Stair Treads

USA: Stair Treads: Manufacturers

Stair treads are the horizontal element of a staircase. They may form the structure of the step, for example when they are formed from steel for fiberglass for an external staircase, or when they are made of wood for an internal staircase. Alternatively a stair tread may be applied to the step, to provide a decorative finish or anti-slip surface. A common material for an applied stair tread is rubber. Other materials for stair treads include vinyl and wood. Special non slip stair treads are available for applications where safety is an important consideration.
